sem.02

this semester was all about deepening my understanding of design thinking and architecture. i focused on how users interact with their environment, learned from precedent studies, and designed a small structure that fit its context. exploring asian architecture showed me how history and culture shape design, while also letting me critically assess urbanism and sustainability. it was a solid foundation in tying together design principles, context, and cultural awareness.

architectural design ii

this module covers the core principles and methods of design thinking—analysis, abstraction, and synthesis—applicable across various design fields, including architecture. the focus is on "user and context," exploring how users interact with the natural environment. students will engage in studio exercises, starting with architectural precedent studies to understand space and construction, followed by exploring form and space through conceptual design. the module culminates in designing a small freestanding structure that meets user needs while integrating with the site context.

platform thoughts

i found that whatsapp message relay was convenient for receiving notifications and important announcements. ms teams' direct communication with tutors streamlined my experience, providing efficient support. the face-to-face tutorial sessions and the mytimes portal also offered an engaging platform for immediate feedback, which was great!
